Anna Ball is a story maker for social change, working at the cusp of socially engaged creative practice, research and cultural advocacy. Working across literary, visual and curatorial practice, Anna’s interest lies in how community-led co-creation can shift mainstream narratives within hostile sociopolitical environments, creating space for dialogue and encounter. Anna is Co-Director of Hostile Environment Art-Fuelled Learning (HEAL) Collective: a Nottingham based migration arts learning collective, and is currently an Arts and Humanities Research Council-funded StoryArcs Fellow at the University of Nottingham, leading community engagement work at Nottingham City Galleries and Museums. Previously an Associate Professor in Postcolonial Feminisms, Literatures and Cultures at NTU, Anna has published widely on intersectional social justice contexts, including gender discourse in Palestinian literature, film and visual art; and on transcultural feminist solidarities across immigration and asylum systems worldwide. Anna is also longstanding organiser of Nottingham Refugee Week.

Manjit Sahota is the co-founder of Poets Against Racism (PAR) and a local poet, performing locally and nationally since 2016. In 2016, Manjit formed PAR to rally poets, spoken word artist and rappers to use their poetry to challenge the rise in racism and spread the word of unity, humanity and Love. ‘Poetry for me is the memory of our history, struggle and resistance’ Manjit
