Ways of Seeing, Learning and Making: I Heard the Sky is Still Blue
Join us for a talks as part of CONTEMPORARY X ART HISTORIES, a collaborative strand of programming between the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Contemporary.
Matthew Chesney (Co-Director, BACKLIT) reflects on the realities of making and sustaining a life as an artist, drawing on our currently exhibiting artist Sarah Cunningham’s time at BACKLIT studios and the conditions, relationships and spaces that allow an artistic practice to grow. This conversation will explore making work, finding space, earning a living and the commitment required to keep going.
