Come along on a walk inspired by the work of our currently exhibiting artist Sarah Cunningham, led by one of our Associate Artists Amelia Daiz. This walk will begin in the early evening and continue through golden hour and sunset, creating artworks inspired by the changing light. Sarah Cunningham's paintings were inspired by nature and light and she often painted at nightime.

As we walk, you will be guided through a variety of activities and material experiments as we try different techniques to capture the changing light. We will explore how shapes and colour can change in different lights and how we can play with shadows and silhouettes in our art.

This will be a relaxed and social walkshop, with no previous artistic experience necessary. The aim is that you will come away from the session having tried some techniques that can inspire future creativity, having improved your observation skills of the city in different lights, and having created your own artworks to take home. All materials will be provided.

After the walk you are welcome to stay and join us at Blend at Contemporary for a complimentary cake and hot drink.

Amelia Daiz is an Associate Artist at Nottingham Contemporary and works as a freelance socially engaged artist and facilitator for many organisations across the East Midlands. She is particularly interested in walking and using a combination of walking and creativity to improve wellbeing. She runs Meanderers which is a small creative walking organisation in Nottingham.
