The City Questions Summer School
Who participates in shaping our city and how are these processes generated? Join us in answering the questions in a series of workshops and facilitated by designer Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad.
Some sessions will take place in different locations but will start from Nottingham Contemporary’s front desk.
Who questions?
Thu 4 August, 6.30 – 8.30pm
Exploring different methods and strategies used to question urban issues in Nottingham and beyond.
Who listens?
Thu 18 August, 5 – 8pm
In discussion with local neighbourhood groups, sharing their experiences and responses to localised urban change.
How do we question in the city?
Sat 27 August, 12 – 5pm
A workshop for groups and individuals interested in observing and questioning in the city: based in Sneinton.
Who decides?
Thu 1 September, 6.30 – 8pm
Drifting within the Broadmarsh regeneration plan, exploring the processes behind this future redevelopment.
Any other questions?
Thu 15 September 6.30 – 8pm
We invite participants to strategise towards future programmes and responses to Nottingham's urban development.
End of the Summer School
Thurs 22 – Friday 23 Sept, 4 – 8pm
A two-day intensive workshop, developed with the Three Ecologies Working Group and the Centre for Critical Theory at The University of Nottingham, exploring different possibilities for collective "citizen" research practices.
