Five Bodies 2022: Entanglements | Call for Workshop ParticipantsPast, Event Mon 3 Jan, Online, 17:30-19:30 (GMT), Monthly
Deadline to Apply: 5pm on Monday 3 January 2022
Join us for a series of free monthly workshops exploring creative-critical writing, hybrid methodologies and experimental thinking.
A collaboration between the Critical Poetics Research Group at Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham Contemporary, this series of workshops investigates poetic ecologies in the Anthropocene. Exploring ideas from weeds and water to eco-trauma and deep time, and featuring some of the most important international creative-critical voices working today, the workshops aim to open up new conversations about entanglement, coexistence, resilience and sustainability. Providing a platform for debate, collaboration and innovation, and involving reading and discussion as well as writing, the workshops are designed for those interested in exploring the relationship between creative and critical theory and practice.
The workshop series supports a programme of public events, each featuring a collaboration and conversation between different creative and critical voices.
Our confirmed speakers for the programme include (full line-up to be announced):
Nina Mingya Powles
Each workshop will be led by one of our invited speakers and will focus on how a poetics of entanglement can open up ways of living together on earth. The workshops will take place online on Wednesdays from 17:30 – 19:30 (GMT) on 9 February, 9 March, 13 April, 11 May and 8 June 2022.
The programme is free and open to all, but places are limited, and applicants must submit a short application by 5pm on Monday 3 January 2022 in order to be considered for a place. We welcome international applications from across disciplinary fields and from beyond the academy, as well as from under-represented or marginalised groups. If you have any specific access needs that we can support, please indicate this on your application form.
We encourage active engagement in the sessions and preference will be given to applicants who are able to commit to participating in the full programme. Selected reading materials will be provided to workshop participants. For more details about the workshops, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
