Experience the secret histories of Nottingham caves through cutting edge immersive technologies. Using augmented and virtual reality techniques you will encounter the extraordinary hidden world beneath the city. We invite everyone to engage with the caves and to learn more about their care and preservation. By bringing the caves to life using augmented and virtual reality technology participants will experience their mysterious stories and a new appreciation for the heritage of the city that lies hidden beneath their feet.

This event is part of the Being Human festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. We welcome anyone age 14 and over to participate in this event.

We are unable to provide British Sign Language interpretation for this event.

Staff and visitors are welcome to wear a face covering in all areas.

Please note most headsets are not designed for children under 13.

Headsets are not recommended if the visitor is pregnant or elderly: Oculus Health and Safety guidelines recommend seeing a doctor before using the headset if you are pregnant, elderly, have pre-existing binocular vision abnormalities or psychiatric disorders, or suffer from a heart condition or other serious medical condition.
