1525: Blender 101
Step into the world of 3D design with Blender, one of the most widely used creative tools for digital modelling, in this workshop for 15-25 year olds.
In this hands-on workshop lead by Technical Artist Asa Booth, participants will explore the fundamentals of 3D making by creating simple sculptural forms inspired by ceramic objects and craft practices.
Blending traditional ideas of making with digital technology, this session invites you to experiment with shape, texture and form, discovering how physical objects can be reimagined in virtual space. Whether new to 3D design or simply curious about creative technology, this beginner session is for you!
Please note, this event will be held off-site at Nottingham Trent University’s City Campus. We’ll share specific location details with ticket-holders via email.

Asa Booth is a Senior Technical Artist who's been in the games industry for nearly 6 years, currently working for Brighton-based Studio Gobo. He graduated from the Norwich University of the Arts Games Art and Design course in 2020 and started working in industry at an organisation in Nottingham.
Through his role as Technical Artist, he empowers artists through technical means to allow them to achieve their creative vision at a high fidelity in a production environment. He supports artists by removing barriers whilst retaining artistic integrity. Asa works with 3D assets in Blender, visuals in the game engine, textures in Substance 3D suite, and code; a jack-of-all-trades role. "Visual Development" would best describe his current work at Studio Gobo. Asa helped Gobo ship Lego Horizon Adventures in 2024.
Outside of his role at Studio Gobo, Asa spends a lot of time working on personal creative projects; learning, getting distracted, and writing far more code than he ever thought he would for a role with "Artist" in the title.
