Meet our new intern

Hi, my name is Daniella Taiwo, and I am the new intern at Nottingham Contemporary for the Learning and Marketing teams. I started on the 7th of October, and it’s been an interesting couple of months. I applied for this role through the Creative Pathways internships advertised by the University of Nottingham, and I am one of seven interns around the city.

I studied Product Design and Manufacture at the University of Nottingham for 4 years (Integrated Masters) and although I enjoyed it, it was challenging. I knew I needed to experience something new, hence why I chose to apply for a role in the Arts. I studied Art at A level and missed being among that part of the creative sector.

As the Learning and Marketing Assistant, my job is to work across both teams, helping with documentation, admin and marketing. Although both teams are different, the work I do in marketing directly supports the needs of the learning team. The synergy of the process makes it more rewarding. Here are some photos of me in action :)

I spent these past 2 months getting to know the people and the work they do, working closely with the 1525 collective and helping the Marketing team with social media/ newsletters. I can honestly say everyone has been warm and welcoming throughout the organisation. There are a lot of hardworking people, from the office to the gallery floor to the cafe. Being around such dedicated people has been so inspiring and no, I haven’t been forced to write these compliments haha.

My goal for this internship is to help in any and every way I can, to share the people as well as the projects at Nottingham Contemporary with more Nottingham residents. So it's a good thing I'm part of the marketing team!
