John Corbett is a music critic, record producer and curator. He is the author of Extended Play: Sounding Off from John Cage to Dr. Funkenstein (1994) and Microgroove: Forays Into Other Music (2015). His writing has appeared in Downbeat, The Wire and many other publications. He has written extensively on Sun Ra, as well as co-curating a major exhibition Pathways to Unknown Worlds: Sun Ra, El Saturn, and Chicago's Afro-Futurist Underground, 1954-68. Corbett lives in Chicago, where he is co-owner of Corbett vs. Dempsey, an art gallery.
