Contemporary Learning

Schools and Colleges

Our free programmes for schools and colleges provide exciting opportunities for children and young people to work with artists, engaging directly with the international artwork in our galleries.

Resources and Artist Led Workshops

Nottingham Contemporary provides a selection of free cross-curricula learning resources, workshops and extended projects for schools and colleges. Our programmes provide exciting opportunities to work with artists in a gallery environment, directly engaging with our free international exhibitions. Our approach connects contemporary art to contemporary life and can be applied across disciplines to a selection of subjects across the curriculum at Key Stages 1-5.

Professional Development

Nottingham Contemporary are offering opportunities for educators from formal or informal learning backgrounds, appropriate for those working across subject areas from Key Stages 1-5.

Sessions will focus on applying contemporary art across disciplines and the spectrum of learning styles and subjects. Primary teachers will learn how to apply contemporary art across the curriculum. Secondary teachers will access ideas relating to their own subject area. Educators from other organisations will learn how to work with contemporary art with their participants.

The programmes include three hour introductory twilight courses, learning previews and extended courses. We have a range of public events that could also interest you.
