How Nottingham Contemporary is working with the local community

Current Projects

We are delighted to be announced as a delivery partner on the Building Better Opportunities programme for Nottingham, working with people with multiple and complex needs. This programme of workshops in collaboration with Changing Lives will begin in 2017. More information on this project here.

Recent Projects

We were pleased to be asked by YMCA to help them deliver Interconnect, a Grants For The Arts funded project. Artists Gillian Brent and Ben Harriott have been collaborating with residents at the Nottingham City homeless hostel.More information on this project here.

We have recently completed a project with Nottingham City Hospital and the specialist palliative care unit, Hayward House. Together, with Associate Artists Chris Lewis-Jones and Joanna Dacombe, participants explored the exhibitions in the gallery and produced creative responses.More information on this project here.

Nottingham Contemporary was once again the proud host of The Refugee Week Launch, 2016. More information about this event here.

The Look Up programme saw artists Gillian Brent, Sian Watson and Jo Dacombe working on a year long programme with the city library service and  adults seeking work. More information on this project here.

A recent collaboration with Mysight connected blind and partially sighted participants with a series of workshops inspired by our Simon Starling exhibition.
