Frances Stark: But what of Frances Stark ..

A solo exhibition by Frances Stark, entitled ‘But what of Frances Stark, standing by itself, a naked name, bare as a ghost to whom one would like to lend a sheet?’ was the first exhibition to open in the new Nottingham Contemporary building, alongside David Hockney: A Marriage of Styles.

It took place 14th November 2009 – 24th January 2010 and included works by Stark that dated from 2001 to the present - from the moment when visual imagery began to enter her collage works up to and including new pieces created for the exhibition. The exhibition later toured to the Centre for Contemporary Art, Glasgow.
