Remember Revolution: 68 at 40

Remember Revolution traced the legacy of the world-wide uprisings of 1968 by examining the relationship between art, film and activism. The centrepiece was the exhibition-archive Disobedience, curated by Marco Scotini. Held in an empty shop with floor to ceiling windows, the installation was designed by Luca Frei and formed one of a series of different iterations of the Disobedience project.

A film programme, centred on the work of Peter Watkins, took place at the Broadway Media Centre, and artist and local historian Chris Matthews lead a walking tour exploring the sites of Nottingham’s radical history. Remember Revolution was the second instalment of Histories of the Present, Nottingham Contemporary’s year-long pre-opening programme of exhibitions and events, taking place at historical sites in and around Nottingham.
