Mercer, Kobena




Kobena Mercer is Professor of History of Art and African American Studies at Yale University. He completed his PHD at Goldsmiths London and previously taught at New York University and University of California at Santa Cruz. Mercer writes on, and teaches, the visual arts of the black diaspora, examining African American, Caribbean, and Black British artists in modern and contemporary art. His first book was titled Welcome to the Jungle (1994.)
