Monthly Workshops

Nottingham Contemporary offers lots of opportunity through its programme for 15-25 year olds. It gives you the chance to gain experience, develop new skills and socialise with other young people. Get creative and be part of monthly art and music socials, hosted by 15 – 25 year olds, for 15 – 25 year olds.

We've previously worked with artists from Primary, One Thoresby Street, London-based Barby Asante and Origin - Art in Motion.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each month there are free guest artist workshops, taking place every Friday in a relaxed space in the gallery. They are led by different artists each month, so you can pick and choose depending on your interests. You can be creative and get real experience in planning a lively social event, which will aim to bring lots of other young people to the gallery on the last Saturday of the month.
  • You can sign up to as many guest artist workshops as you like, so come along and develop your creative and professional skills. The artist will offer inspiration and help the group to steer the workshops and the end of month social in any direction you choose.
  • No previous experience in making art is needed, and the workshops are open to everyone aged 15-25. You will be encouraged and supported along the way in developing your ideas and skills by the guest artist and our youth programmer Alice.
  • And if you feel like getting involved further, you can join our steering group, who are working on a big festival to be held in October 2015, planned and hosted entirely by young people.
