The Weekend Family Room

30 Apr 2011 - 19 Jun 2011

Open the door on Level 2 and drop into our family room. This will provide a space to draw, read, relax and create something in response to our exhibitions. This space is dedicated to families - we welcome both small and big people.

Just open the door, come in and enjoy some time together! 11am - 3pm

Sat 28 and Sun 29 May
Cinematic Scenes
Imagine yourself in a movie scene inspired by the exhibition. Will you choose to be a spy hiding in a busy market or a superstar traipsing through a hot desert? Whatever you choose, we’ll be on hand to get you into character and photograph you against a stunning cinematic backdrop.

Sat 4 and Sun 5 June
All things Big and Small
There are giant things to see in the exhibition, but what happens when they are made very small? Join us to discover a world of miniatures.

Sat 11 and Sun 12 June
Spinning Worlds
Make the world spin and whirl. Make your own swirling invention or use your body to make drawings while you spin round and round. How you do it is up to you, but we’ll be there to give you a helping hand.

Sat 18 and Sun 19 June
11am - 3pm

Shrine
A shrine is a very special place to remember the things, people and places you love. This can be anything from your god to your favourite football team.
Using a variety of materials, ideas and objects, work with us to make a shrine that expresses your passion. Why not bring along some objects and photographs from home to make it really unique?

In The Studio, look out for work by Nottingham families, created as part of of a project celebrating refugee week.

We would like to thank Nottingham City Council Library for the loan of books to the Family Room
