Thursday Live Lectures: Matthew Darbyshire

Installation artist Matthew Darbyshire presents images of previous projects and discuss his new work for BAS7, shown at Nottingham Contemporary.Using contemporary design that ranges from designer furniture to Nike trainers, as well as items he has made himself, Darbyshire explores personal taste and social aspirations. His work reconsiders objects, questioning how they have been appropriated by corporations, property developers – and art galleries.

Thursday Live Lecture Series

In collaboration with Nottingham Contemporary, New Art Exchange and Nottingham Castle, the Fine Art course at Nottingham Trent University presents the Thursday Live Lecture series of free seminars by the British Art Show 7 curators and a selection of artists included in the exhibition. This series is an opportunity to find out more about the art on show across the city.
