Around the same time as his celebrated Nature Carpets Gilardi also created “clothes” (1964-1967) again using polyurethane as a material. They fell into two categories - vestitu stati d’animo (mood suits) and vistiti natura (nature dresses). He staged performances using the dresses at his home, or at the Piper Club in Turin – a bar and informal arts venue.
There will be re-enactments of a 1960s Gilardi performance with a stone dress costume in our galleries on:
Sat 9 March
Sat 23 March
Sat 6 April
On each date three performances will take place at the following times:
12 pm – 1st performance, 10 mins
1 pm – 2nd performance, 10 mins
2 pm – 3rd performance, 10 mins
