A Lecture by Paul Smith

01 Dec 2010

This event is now fully booked. A live screening of the lecture will take place in cafe.bar.contemporary and the downstairs reception. Spaces are limited. 6pm - 7pm, free.

A special lecture that Sir Paul Smith has kindly agreed to give to guests at Nottingham Contemporary. Called Observations, his lecture will describe his own unique creative working practices, and his many sources of inspiration from both contemporary art and popular culture.

Sir Paul is a legend in international design. His lectures are a rare and inspirational opportunity to gain an insight into a company that regularly puts our city on a world stage. From a small shop, very near Nottingham Contemporary on Byard Lane, he has grown his business to an international exemplar, with Paul Smith stocked throughout 75 countries – including 200 throughout Japan.

In business for over 30 years, Paul Smith has established himself as the pre-eminent British designer. He has an ability to anticipate trends, not only in fashion but also in the wider context of popular culture. His business still bears his inimitable personal stamp in every area, while his coveted clothes are a byword for elegance and flair.

We will be launching our individual Benefactors and Supporters, and our Business Benefactors schemes during his visit.
