MuHa- New Roots from Eastern Europe band is returning to Nottingham Contemporary on Saturday July 17th to launch their new album Taras.

Stemming from eastern roots MuHa layers and mixes the sounds of different traditions, influenced by the multicultural society they inhabit in the UK.. Combining the melodic beauty of Eastern European folklore, North Indian Kathak rhythms, Cuban grooves, Western European influence and original lyrics from old Russian and modern Ukrainian, they hope to mesmerize you with a musical feast rooted in the Slavonic tradition but cultured from the world.

The Indian dancers from Manushi Dance company that appear in MuHa’s music video will be dancing along with one of MuHa’s tracks.

Support comes from LyrikooL Lipz, the winner of the Midlands-Heat Human Beatbox Championships in 2007.

Beatboxing, rapping and singing are all elements of his full live show where he will use a looping pedal to create live samples/loops of his voice to perform entirely original material all solely with the use of his mouth, much of which is improvised. Singing and rapping from a young age, Danny found himself creating beats with his voice when he was around 17. It went from annoying-habit to party-trick to possible UK Beatbox Champion 2007.

The evening also features VJ Barret Hodgson with a variety of moving images.
