The University of Nottingham's Inflatable Planeterium
6 - 10pm, three 20 minute shows given every hour.
As part of Light Night we will be hosting the amazing Inflativerse, The University of Nottingham's Inflatable Planetarium. The Inflativerse is a mobile planetarium that is used by volunteer scientists from The University of Nottingham, School of Physics and Astronomy, to bring the stars to children and families in the Nottingham area.
The shows are both educational and inspirational, you can see the winter night sky without the light pollution or clouds masking the phenomenal beauty of the universe.
This attraction is always very popular and given the recent BBC stargazing series we think it will be very busy. Due to the limited availability of the tours tickets will be provided on the night for each tour. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
In addition to the Inflativerse we will also be holding free family creative activities in our Studio and will have free live music from Spaceships Are Cool in our Cafe.Bar.
Free family fun in our Studio, 6pm - 9pm
Drop in to transform the studio floors and walls into a night sky shimmering with swirling constellations. Shiny and sticky materials on offer to help you make your creations.
Stay for dinner
Between 5 - 10pm our Cafe.Bar will be offering family friendly winter warmer meals and hot drinks to come out of the cold for.
Special offer: all children's meals half price with an adult meal.
Free live music in our Cafe.Bar
From 10pm Spaceships Are Cool will be entertaining us with their own brand of SCI-FI sunshine pop and retro folktronica. Creating a wonderland of Beats, Bleeps & acoustic guitars with an eclectic mix of instruments such as theremin, stylophones, omnichord, toy phones.
