Land and Resistance: A Walking Tour

The Study Sessions

30 Jul 2015

6.30pm - 8.30pm

FreeThe Studio. Tour will depart from Nottingham Contemporary.

Roger Tanner and Christopher Richardson lead a walking tour through the city's sites of resistance rebellion.

The Study Sessions are organised in collaboration with Five Leaves Bookshop.

Roger Tanner has lived in Nottingham for nearly 50 years. He has always been interested in its history and politics and has led many walks in and around, the city to explore places which hold a rich memory of these. He is especially interested in the heritage of struggles by ordinary people as they fought for the vote, for better living and working conditions and for a fairer society.

Christopher Richardson has lived in Nottingham for forty years, has been politically active for most of that time, and has a longstanding interest in local radical history. He is the author of ‘A City of Light: Socialism, Chartism and Co-operation – Nottingham 1844’.
