Venue: ‘Beatties’, Angel Row, Nottingham
Date: Friday 2 May
Time: 6pm – 8 pm
Time-travel through Nottingham’s radical political heritage by joining local historian Chris Matthews on a vivid walk through the city. Nottingham has a proud history of radical political action, from Luddites, to Chartists, to Cheese Rioters. In the 18th and 19th Century Nottingham became a byword around the country for agitation and unrest. This reached a head when the people burnt down the Castle when the Reform Bill was rejected by the House of Lords in 1831.
Wear stout shoes, bring your banners.
Venue: Nottingham City
Date: Saturday 17 - Sunday 18 May
Time: 6pm – 8 pm
Tune in, chill out and stage a sit-in. The Broadway’s bar staff will be manning (and womanning) the barricades, while the decks spin protest tunes and rebel rock.
Dress code: combat
Venue: Broadway Bar
Date: Sunday 18 May
