There are plenty of reasons to bring your family to Nottingham Contemporary this October. We've got loads of free family activities designed to inspire imaginations and help you discover our exhibitions from Geoffrey Farmer and Asco together.
Our events are free and all ages are welcome, 11am – 3pm, just drop in.
Sat 12 and Sun 13 October: Moving Machines, in The Studio
Geoffrey Farmer's exhibition is full of moving forms. Build your own machine with moving parts, then squeeze in and use your body to become part of the machine.
Sat 19 and Sun 20 October: Family Awards, in The Studio
Celebrate the unique qualities of your family members by creating your own award categories, design and make a fitting trophy for them.
October Half Term, Tue 22 - Fri 1 November (closed Mondays): Stage Sets & Costumes, in The Space or Studio
Act one - Take to the stage for the first week of the holidays and become a set designer. Act two - In the second week be inspired by the glam rock chic in our exhibition to make your own costumes.
Sat 26 and Sun 27 October: Instant Murals, in The Studio
Like ASCO we'll be creating instant murals. Come along and strike a pose. Hold the pose whilst a family member tapes you to the wall!
Borrow an Explorer kit bag - every day during the exhibition
Free, Available from Reception
These little bags of wonder offer families practical and playful ways to explore and enjoy the exhibitions.
“A great idea – it helped my children to be able to look at the art in more detail.” Family visitor
