Emory Douglas Young People's Workshop
4pm - 8pm, free
Emory Douglas is the former Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party and absolutely integral to its development from very early days. He developed the fantastic identity that defined the movement and played a large part in its huge popular appeal.
Young people will be making banners and posters inspired by Douglas’s powerful graphics. Although he lives in the US, in San Francisco, Douglas was in the UK at the end of the recent riots and at the workshop he will be discussing the difference between being destructive and taking part in revolutionary protest, as the Panther’s did.
