Easter Family Fun

Free activities for all

We've got some fantastic and completely free activities to keep the whole family entertained throughout the Easter holidays.

Go Bats!

Sat 23 & Sun 24 April
The Space and the Galleries. 11am- 3pm. Lion Dance at 12pm. Free

This Easter weekend help us create the World’s Biggest Bat Cave! Join us in The Space and transform yourself into a bat with our fun costumes for kids. We’ll have bat stories and sounds and you can drop into our brand new exhibition by Chinese artist Huang Yong Ping and see a real spy plane full of the creatures!

At 12 - 12.30pm on both 23 & 24 April we'll have spectacular Chinese lion dancers providing a wonderful, colourful display that all the family are guaranteed to enjoy! It's free, pop in and take a look!

Family Room

30 April & 1 May
The Studio, 11am - 3pm. Free

Drop into the Studio on level 2, a place to draw, read, relax and create art inspired by the exhibition. Dedicated to families; it’s a free and ideal space to spend time together, between 11am – 3pm every weekend in between our extravaganzas.

Play and Learn Trails

Every day during the School Holidays

Every day during the Easter School Holidays you can come to Nottingham Contemporary and make, create, draw, play games, tell stories and discover our exhibitions by Huang Yong Ping and Wael Shawky with our Play and Learn trails.

We'll also have fun activities in our family friendly Cafe, get a free cookie when you buy a child’s meal and let your youngsters decorate an egg, we’ve got competitions and great prizes including giant Easter eggs and free Sunday roasts!

Keep your eyes peeled for our friendly zebra too; he’s got goodies to give away!
