Practice is a playful and intimate exploration into what we practice when we go to see theatre. Presented in a constantly changing environment, it’s a performance of three hours to which spectators may come and go.
Two performers travel through a series of scenes that imply relationships and narratives which are constantly shifting. These fictions are suggested by the easy enactment and repetition of simple gestural and spoken exchange, and through the careful construction of slow-moving images.
These moments occur inside a performance environment which is gradually and repeatedly built and dismantled by the performers, affecting an ebb and flow of the theatrical frame which continually transforms the meanings we might associate with the bodies on display.
Practice is co-produced by Jardin d’Europe in partnership with Southbank Centre, with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union. It is supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England."
