Collabor8: Art and Activism Course

03 Mar 2018 - 24 Mar 2018

Learn how to make videos and animations to get your political voice heard!

Join digital artist Sam Read for a free course exploring visual expressions of activism and communication. Choose a topic that’s close to your heart and turn it into politically engaged films and stop motion animations.

You will work collaboratively on a digital campaign that will be displayed at Nottingham Contemporary for our visitors to see, as well as shared widely online!

From this course you will:

- Learn how to produce effective campaigns
- Develop research skills by exploring other activists and campaigns
- Explore scriptwriting for short films
- Learn how to make a topical animation with everyday equipment
- Learn how to spread a message with textile art and installation
- Effectively disseminate your content online
- Identify issues, articulate ideas and share these with others
- Develop evaluation strategies for own and others work, providing critical and constructive feedback
