Contemporary Dance Course

02 Aug 2016 - 30 Aug 2016

Body / Buildings is a five-week dance course led by dancer and choreographer Antonio Abatangelo in collaboration with artist and curator Ericka Flórez.

Through a series of body movements and basic exercises, the group will explore different ways in which urban space is generated and distributed and how the body is involved in the creation and perception of these spaces.

During their collaboration, previous to the dance course, Antonio and Ericka will examine how movement, dance and choreography could be explored as research tools to inquiry the ideologies behind the generation and construction of a given space or building. They will create a series of micro-choreographies based on various interpretations of a series of buildings and spaces in Nottingham, that will be performed during the dance course later in August.

This course is for adults only (18+) and will run every Tuesday from 2 – 30 August.

Beginners 6 – 7pm (please note this slot is now fully booked)

Advanced 7 – 8pm

Free. To book please email merce@nottinghamcontemporary.org  indicating what slot you wish to attend.
