Workshop: The Black Arts Movement in Nottingham & Art School Curriculum Today

With London based art collective Collective Creativity

29 Apr 2015

Free, The Space

Join us for a workshop led by Collective Creativity inspired by Glenn Ligon: Encounters and Collisions. The workshop will focus on the exhibition and on the history of the Black Arts Movement at Nottingham Trent, as well as questions of race in contemporary art school curricula and current student experience.

Participants will collaborate on making a publication, and are invited to contribute to the panel discussion Politics of the Art School on Thu 30 April at 6.30pm. They will be joined by key members of Nottingham's Black Art Movement such as Keith Piper and Said Ardus who participated in a landmark exhibition at NTU in the 1980s.

The workshop is for people who identify as people of colour artists, and is led by Collective Creativity who idenify as QTIPOC (queer, trans, intersex, people of colour) artists.
