Are you new to contemporary art?
Ever wondered what happens inside an art gallery?
Why do we show the art we do?
Delivered by Associate Artist Chris Lewis-Jones, behind the scenes is a great opportunity to find out how we exhibit, view, use and interpret art within the gallery. Participants do not need any formal art skills or qualifications but they must have a genuine interest in the subject.
Sessions will cover all aspects of organising an exhibition, from generating an idea for an exhibition, to selecting artists and artworks. We shall also look at how Nottingham Contemporary engages and develops a diverse audience, through it’s learning programme, how it functions within the local economy and its role within the creative culture of Nottingham, the East Midlands, Britain and the World.
Full fee: £83.75. Free for people on low incomes or those currently unemployed.
