Stan Brakhage
Stan Brakhage is considered to be one of the most important figures in 20th century experimental film. Made in response to the Vietnam War 23rd Psalm, Branch contrasts scenes of his tranquil life in rural Colorado with footage of the Second World War. Influenced by Tacitus and Edward Gibbon, 23rd Psalm Branch pushes 8mm film to its limits and remains one of Brakhage’s most compelling works.
