Subtitles is an episode of the Swedish children’s television programme Det Bara Hander from 1972, with a commentary by Anders Kreuger. Viewing the programme as an adult, 30 years after it was made, he was able to come to put into words why it was that his seven-year-old self had felt so alienated from the programme’s educational message.
